Creating and editing numbering schemes
Impact Ordering automatically allocates numbers to objects such as orders, order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices in order to uniquely identify them in the system. You can define numbering schemes to adapt these numbers to your own requirements. You can find further information about numbering schemes under Managing numbering schemes.1
- On the page Supplier administration, click the link Numbering schemes. The page Numbering schemes is displayed. On the tab Current, only those numbering schemes are displayed that are currently valid. On the tab Overview, all numbering schemes are displayed.
- Click:
- the button New entry, to create a new numbering scheme.
- the icon
to edit an existing numbering scheme.
The page Numbering scheme is displayed.
- Enter a name for the numbering scheme in each language that is being used in the system.
- If the numbering scheme is only valid for one company, enter the name of the company in the selection list company. If the numbering scheme is only valid for this company, but not for subordinated companies, activate the check box Use only for selected company.
- If necessary, enter a priority. For further information about priorities see Managing numbering schemes.
- Enter your start value (lowest number) and end value (highest number). The pattern with the values is displayed next to the input field. If you enter variables, the parameters are displayed here. The values of the variables are only displayed when used. When this end value has been reached, the numbering scheme expires (expiry due to values). If successors have been defined, the successor numbering scheme is activated.
- If you want to define a numbering scheme only for a limited period of time, enter a start date and an end date. When the end date is reached, the numbering scheme expires (expiry due to date). If successors have been defined for the numbering scheme, the system uses the next successor when the end date has expired.
In the section Format you can define your own format for the numbering scheme. See Formats for numbering schemes for more information and examples.
