Deleting addresses and address attributes

Deleting addresses

If you delete an address, it can no longer be assigned to companies, users and basic contracts and cannot be selected in baskets. However, if it has already been used for orders, the information for the deleted address is retained in those orders.

If an address is in use (that is, it is assigned to at least one company profile or one basic contract), you cannot delete the relevant address attribute in the Addresses list. For example, if an invoice address has been assigned in a company profile, you cannot remove the Invoice address attribute in the Addresses list. You can, however, delete the attribute on the Attributes tab of the address details page.

  1. In the Addresses list, click next to the address that you want to delete.
  2. In the address details, click the Delete button.
  3. Click Delete to confirm the deletion.

Deleting address attributes

The attributes of addresses that have been assigned to users, companies and basic contracts are automatically checked. If an address attribute is deleted, the address is removed from objects that use the address type specified by the attribute. For example, if you remove the Invoice address attribute of an address that is assigned to 4 company profiles and 2 basic contracts, the address is no longer available in the Invoice address selection list of all 4 company profiles and both basic contracts. Deleting address attributes may result in a user no longer having a recipient address or a company no longer having a default mailroom address. This does not affect the allocation of an address to a company or user, nor addresses that have already been used for orders.
