Create and edit classifications
You can call up and edit classification entries of classification systems, as for example eCl@ss.
Tip: You can edit product groups and classification entries in the catalog editor (see Create and edit catalogs in the catalog editor).
- On the page Catalog administration , click the link Classifications.
The page Classifications is displayed.
- Select the classification you want to edit and click the button Next.
The page Classification is displayed. Select the menu item Help to display detailed information about this page.
- Click:
- the button New entry to create a new classification entry.
- the icon
to edit an existing entry.
The page Edit classification is displayed. Select the menu item Help to display detailed information about this page.
- Enter a reference number and a name for the classification entry and, if necessary, the reference number of the superior entry. The system checks if the indicated reference number already exists and if the superior reference number exists.
- Click Save.
Notes on editing classification entries
- If you edit the reference number, existing classification assignments (source and target) are updated.
- It is not permitted to enter an existing number of another classification (always in relation to the same classification system).
- It is necessary that the reference number of the superior classification exists in the system.
- The superior reference number may not be the same as the number of the entry you want to edit.
Notes on deleting classification entries
- It is not possible to delete entries with subordinated classifications.
- When deleting an entry, existing classification assignments are also deleted.
- When deleting a classification entry, this means that the entry of the assignment will be deleted, but not the classification of already "classified" products. They will only be deleted when the classification or the assignment is updated.
