Creating an eClass catalog

eCl@ss is a standard for  material classification and product groups and is an offer for the information exchange between suppliers and customers. eCl@ss uses a four-step, hierarchical classification key with an index containing more than 14.000 keywords. For more information please see www.eclass-online.com.

To create a new catalog with the eCl@ss classification scheme, the supplier catalogs have to be classified accordingly.

The necessary classification file eclass4_0_80c_de.csv is included when you install Impact Ordering and contains the complete eCl@ss classification scheme.

An eCl@ss catalog can be created via two scheduled tasks that can only be created by a user with the authorization set Administrator.

The task eClass classification scheme-Import imports the eCl@ss classification scheme and creates an empty eCl@ss super catalog with this scheme.

The task eClass classification scheme-Product assignment copies all products that are classified according to eCl@ss into the new catalog. The classified products are displayed in the eCl@ss catalog as well as in the original catalog of the supplier.
