Uploading catalogs

When using the catalog import, the user has access to catalogs that are stored directly in the file system of the server. On the contrary, with the catalog upload, the catalog manager can upload catalogs from his PC to the server and start their import. This applies to a new catalog (in BMEcat: T_NEW_CATALOG), as well as to an update of products and prices (in BMEcat: T_UPDATE_PRODUCTS/PRICES). A supplier who has access to the system can also use the catalog upload to import catalogs for his company.

On the page Catalog administration click the Link Catalog Upload.

The page Catalog upload is displayed. Select the menu item Help to display detailed information about this page.

The Upload is divided into three steps:

Creating Upload

  1. On the tab Create Upload select:

Import new catalog, in order to create a new catalog (BME-Type T_NEW_CATALOG)

Update catalog (pricelist import) in order to update products and prices of existing catalogs of the type BME T_UPDATE_PRODUCTS/PRICES. If you edit a catalog of the type BME T_NEW_CATALOG , the previous catalog will be replaced.

  2. Select the name of the supplier from the list Supplier.

Note: If the supplier does not yet exist in the database, you have to create it first. (see Create and edit supplier).

  3. If you want to create an additional core article catalog, activate the option Create additional core catalog and enter a name extension.
  4. Select the companies that should have access to the catalog and click the icon to assign them.
  5. Click the button Next.
