Editing product prices
The price of a product does not always stay the same and there may be many reasons to alter a price or to enter several prices for one product. For example:
- A price is only valid until a certain date. After this date, the price of the product will change
- You want to offer different prices in different price groups
- You want to offer different prices for different quantities (graduated/scaled prices)
- You want to offer a current price for a product
- You want to announce the price only upon inquiry
Change prices and add new prices
- Display the product for which you want to change the prices (see Creating and editing products).
- Click the tab Prices.
In the section Price history , all prices entered for the product are displayed. Select the menu item Help to display detailed information about this section.
- Click:
- Edit to change an existing price
- Add to add a new price
The page Graduated prices is displayed. Select the menu item Help to display detailed information about this page.
- In the selection list Price group, select a price group.
- Enter a period of validity for the price in the fields Valid from or until.
Note: It is not possible to enter two prices with the same options and the same period of validity.
- Select the option Price list in order to enter a price for the product. In the section Graduated prices, you can enter the tax rate, the minimum order quantity, the basic price and the currency.
- If you want to enter graduated prices for the product (e.g. lower prices for higher quantities), click the symbol
. A new line will be added. Enter quantity and price into the fields. If you want to delete a price line, click the symbol
. - If you don't want to display the price in the catalog, select the option Query price from supplier company. If you select this option, the section Graduated prices will not be displayed. In the catalog, users see the text Ask the supplier for the price instead of the price. Users can click this text to send an inquiry for prices to the supplier. You can find further information under Send inquiry for prices to the supplier in the manual Requesting and ordering products.
- If you activate the option Today's price, the symbol
will be displayed on the tab Prices and in the catalog.
- Click Save.
The information you have entered are displayed on the tab Prices. After completion of the scheduled task Catalog management, the new or the modified prices are displayed in the catalog.
Note: If necessary, new or modified prices have to be approved by the responsible catalog manager or purchaser, before they can be displayed in the catalog (see Comparing an approving catalogs).
Delete prices
On the tab Prices, click the button Delete next to be price you want to delete.
Note: If you delete the active price, the product can no longer be ordered. In the catalog, the text Not available is displayed instead of the price.
