Creating and editing catalogs

Impact Ordering differentiates between supplier catalogs and user catalogs. A supplier catalog is a grouping of products of one supplier and is assigned to a basic contract. A user catalog is a selection (a "catalog view") of the catalog data of one or more suppliers. When you import a catalog from a file, the system automatically creates a supplier catalog and a corresponding user catalog as a selection (view) of the product data.

User catalogs can be compiled individually in the catalog editor using the data of one or more supplier catalogs. They can also be created automatically using filters. eCl@ss and core article catalogs are also user catalogs and are compiled from the supplier catalogs by a scheduled task or during the catalog import. See Catalog types for more information.

Although supplier catalogs are usually imported into Impact Ordering, they can also be created and edited by suppliers with access to the system or by catalog managers.
