Defining user rights for a company

In the company profile, you can assign authorization sets, user groups, catalogs and conditions to the company. These objects are then available for assignment in the user profile of users belonging to the company.  These assignments control the access rights of users belonging to the company. Catalogs assigned to a company are automatically assigned to all the company's users, but you can change the assignment for individual users in the user profile. See Roles and rights for more information on user rights.

When you create a new company, the company is automatically created as a subsidiary of the company for to which you belong and the user rights assignments of the parent company are inherited. You can change these settings in the Groups tab of the company profile.

  1. In the company profile, click the Groups tab.
  2. In the Available list in the appropriate section, select the items that you want to assign and click the icon to transfer the items to the Assigned list.

To remove items from the from Assigned list, click the icon . See Assignment lists in the General information for all users guide for more information on assigning items.

Note: Inherited items that are automatically assigned by the system are displayed in grey text and cannot be manually removed from the Assigned list. You can, however, remove the items by activating the check box Parent company's user groups are not automatically inherited or, in the case of authorization sets, by activating the check box Allow all available authorizations automatically. See Company hierarchy and inheritance for more information on inherited items.

  3. Click Save.
