Defining rights for a user

A user's access to the system is determined by the user rights assigned to him by his company administrator. Rights are granted to a user by assigning authorization sets, role sets and user groups in the user profile. Users may also inherit catalog access rights that are defined in the company profile of their company. A number of standard authorization sets are available and users with the appropriate rights can create new authorization sets. See Roles and rights and Standard authorization sets for more information.

  1. In the user profile, click the Groups tab.
  2. To assign:
    • an authorization set, click the Add authorization set button and select the authorization set from the selection list. For some authorization sets, you must also specify for which company the authorization set is valid and whether the authorization set is valid for related companies.
    • a role set, click the Add role set button and select the role set from the selection list.

Note: For some authorization sets and role sets you have to select the company and the related (e.g. subsidiary) companies for which the authorization set or role set is valid.

    • a user group, in the User groups section, select the user group and click the icon to transfer the group to the Assigned user groups list. See Assignment lists for more information on assigning items.
  3. Click Save.
