You can define the following individual settings for a user in the user profile:
General settings
In addition to the user rights that you define in the Groups tab of the user profile, you can select general settings that control a user's rights in the system. For example, you can specify whether a user may edit his own recipient addresses or his message settings. General settings also enable you to disable a user's access to the system or to create a "carbon-copy user" with which users can register themselves in the system.
To define general settings, in the user profile, click the Master data tab and select the appropriate settings in the Properties section. Click the menu item Help to display detailed information about the settings.
Regional and language settings
Regional and language settings determine, for example, which language, currency and number and date formats a user will see in the user interface. The user can change these settings himself in his profile.
To define regional and language settings, in the user profile, click the Formats tab and select the appropriate settings in the Regional settings section. Click the menu item Help to display detailed information about the settings.
Address settings
You can assign default contact, recipient and mailroom addresses to a user and specify which address information is displayed to him in the system and in which order. The user can change these settings himself in his profile and can also add new addresses.
To define address settings, in the user profile, click the Formats tab.
Tip: If the user's contact and recipient addresses are identical, activate the option Recipient address is identical to contact address. You then only have to enter or edit the contact address.
Message settings
You can specify how messages are displayed in a user's lobby. For example, you can specify the order in which the different messages types are displayed, the maximum number of messages that should be displayed and which messages the user should also receive as an e-mail. The user can only change these settings himself if you activate the option User is allowed to edit message configuration in the Master data tab of the user profile.
To change message settings, in the user profile, click the Messages tab. For each type of message, select the Position in the lobby, the Maximum number of entries that should be displayed and which messages should never be sent by e-mail , sent only once by e-mail
or always sent by e-mail
. See Settings for messages and Message types for information about the available options.
Display settings
You can change various settings that affect how the system displays information for a user. For example, you can specify whether the menu bar should be shown vertically at the left or horizontally above the work area, or you can specify that the last page the user visited should be shown when he logs on again.
To change display settings, in the user profile, click the Master data tab and select the appropriate settings in the Settings section. Click the menu item Help to display detailed information about the settings.
