Some pages in Impact Ordering provide combined entry and selection fields for you to enter or select items of information that are stored in the system, such as users or companies.
You can enter the name of the item directly or display a selection list and select the name from the list. If more items are available than can be displayed in the selection list, you can search for and select the item from a list of all available items.
Entering items directly
If you know the exact name of the item, you can enter the name directly in the field.
Activating the selection list
If you do not know the exact name of the item, you can use the icon or
to activate a selection list for the field.
If you leave the field blank, all available items are displayed in the selection list, provided that the number of available items is not too large for the selection list. You can also enter a part of the name to display a shortened selection list containing only the items that correspond to the name part you entered.
You can use an asterisk * (for multiple letters) or question mark ? (for one letter) as placeholders. For example, if you want to select a user named Meyer, but you are not sure exactly how his surname is spelt, enter M*r in the input field and click on the icon or
. All users are listed whose names begin with M and end with r, such as Meyer, Maier, Mayr, Muster, etc, are displayed in the selection list.
Activating a search
If you want to select an item from the list of all available items, leave the field empty and click the icon . You can also use this function if the standard selection list cannot be displayed because the number of entries is too large.
